MetaLife Program Contraindications
- Pregnancy
- Underweight (BMI <18.5)
- Gastric Bypass Surgery – Patients who have had Gastric Bypass Surgery need to obtain approval from their bariatric MD before beginning the program
Fat Fast & Omega 3 Plus Protocol Contraindications
- Liver Disease
- Gallbladder Disease
- Acute/Chronic Pancreatitis
- Gastroparesis
Additional Precautions
- Patients with insulin-dependent diabetes must work with primary health care practitioner to adjust insulin doses accordingly
- Patients with gastric cancer, peptic ulcers or other conditions related to excessive stomach acid production should refrain from using Gastro Plus during the program
- During the fat fast, participants shouldn’t plan to perform extensive exercise
- It is recommended to have all participants let their primary healthcare practitioner know they are participating in the MetaLife Program
- It is contraindicated for someone with a pacemaker or other essential support device such as a patient monitoring system to use the InBody machine. However, these individuals can still do the MetaLife Program and have their weight and body composition tracked using a regular weight scale (one that is not contraindicated for use with medical devices) and body fat calipers to measure body fat levels.
